Master of Educational Technology and Applied Learning Sciences (METALS) Required Prerequisites Form
Carnegie Mellon’s METALS is a rigorous interdisciplinary program. Every student arrives here with his or her own set of talents and skills. However, two courses or the equivalent, demonstrable knowledge are required for entry into the program. If you do not have this knowledge, we offer free courses that you can take prior to matriculating in August. However, if required for you, you must successfully complete these courses in order to matriculate in the Fall semester.
We would like to start the discussion about your background. In doing so we ask that you take a moment and determine which requirements you feel you have completed and fill out the section online with supporting documentation. Please fill out the sections for statistics and programming with your course details and/or experience. Once documents have been received they will be reviewed within two weeks.
We are excited to offer two online self-paced courses, Statistics and Introduction to Programming with Python, during the summer. These courses will be available in mid-May and will meet the METALS statistics and the programming requirements.
Please complete the form below. As part of your admission you will be required to demonstrate expertise or successfully complete these courses prior to matriculating in August.
